Skate Pairs coach, Bobby Martin has been selected as the figure skating representative in the third cohort of the National Team Leadership Education Program administered by the United States Olympic Committee. The program is aimed at assisting coaches by giving them the tools they need to nurture athletes at a highly competitive international level.
Bobby’s contributions to the program have been particularly interesting because the group is comprised of coaches from many different sports. Pairs skating is such a unique sport in that it requires a man and a woman to work very closely with one another on the same team. The other coaches find Bobby’s work fascinating and the group is learning a lot about how to become more successful coaches.
“I am very lucky to have the opportunity to share my figure skating coaching experiences with the NTLEP. Listening to the experiences of other coaches and applying those lessons to my own coaching has been particularly rewarding.” – Bobby Martin
Congratulations Bobby! Skate Pairs is so proud to have coaches committed to taking their coaching to the next level. For more information on our coaches, please visit the coaches page.
